Everybody's Talking About It ...
"In District Day" provides an opportunity for Rep. Chip Shields to hear the voices of N/NE Portland
Saturday, May 19, 11 am - 1 pm at Hot Lips Pizza
Portland, Ore. - On Saturday, May 19, State Representative Chip Shields (D-N/NE Portland) and his staff will take a break from the legislative session in Salem to talk about his top priority, the K-12 budget, and hear concerns from constituents of his district.
The event takes place at Hot Lips Pizza Restaurant at 5440 NE 33rd Ave. at Killingsworth from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This is the third "In District" visit for Rep. Shields. These gatherings give Shields and his constituents a chance to meet and greet during the legislative session. The first two events were at Portland Community College Cascade campus and Reflections Coffee House.
"K-12 education funding is my top priority," said Shields, "and I'm proud to report that the co-chairs budget has put kids first by funding K-12 education at a healthy $6.245 billion. I look forward to sharing more about the budget and hearing what else the Legislature can do to further living-wage jobs, health care and schools in N/NE Portland."
Due to high attendance at previous events, constituents are encouraged to call the office at (503) 986-1443 to reserve a 15-minute meeting with Rep. Shields.
